Your best friend, Dr. H20

Other than sleep, arguably the most necessary thing we need as human beings is water. The lack of hydration and water in our bodies can cause everything from brain fog and fatigue to more serious issues like elevated heartbeats and fainting. Here are some basic guidelines for your water intake:

  1. Drink 1/2-1 ounce of water per pound you weigh, per day

  2. Avoid tap water wherever possible, especially without a filter. Local municipalities are known to add things like disinfectants (chlorine, etc) and pipelines often carry dangerous heavy metals that leech into the water supply.

  3. Only buy and drink 100% spring water! Not distilled, filtered, or otherwise. Companies use clever marketing tricks to manipulate your decision making.

  4. Drink water at room temperature. Cold water can shock the body unnecessarily, especially during or right after exercise.
