Trevor Barlow

Founder, HTFT Mental Health and Performance

Born and raised in South Florida, Trevor Barlow developed a passion for sports at a young age, excelling in baseball, basketball, and football. His athletic journey led him to pursue football at the collegiate level, with stints at Mount Union University, Central Lakes College (MN), and Charleston Southern University, before earning his degree from Florida International University.

After college, Trevor’s athletic aspirations continued with various tryout opportunities in professional football and rugby, training alongside elite athletes and coaches at top facilities across Florida and Ohio. He had the privilege of working with organizations like the Oakland Raiders, Cincinnati Bengals, Green Bay Packers, Pittsburgh Steelers, the FXFL (Filler League), and Tiger Rugby an affiliate of Team USA. His time in these high-performance environments also provided him access to top-tier physical therapists, performance coaches, and sports psychologists, which greatly influenced his understanding of both physical and mental wellness.

Through these experiences, Trevor came to deeply understand the connection between mental health and athletic performance. He expanded this knowledge by studying and incorporating teachings from Dr. Isaac Farin, a Marriage and Family Therapist. Dr. Farin’s work, particularly around family dynamics and its direct impact on athletes mental health, resonated with Trevor and aligned with the structural systems he followed in professional sports. This insight has enabled Trevor to incorporate a family-focused therapeutic approach into his work, helping not only athletes but also entire teams and organizations. His understanding of how family systems affect mental health has allowed him to support athletes in navigating challenges that go beyond performance, including stress, relationships, and mental well-being.

Driven by the belief that mental health is a cornerstone of high-level performance, Trevor founded HTFT Mental Health and Performance. The program blends his extensive background in athletic performance with his deep knowledge of mental health, creating a comprehensive framework for growth. At HTFT, athletes receive guidance on not only physical performance but also mental wellness equipping them with the tools to manage stress, develop resilience, and enhance both their personal and athletic lives.

Trevor’s holistic approach incorporates four key pillars: Mental Health, which provides clarity and direction, integrating principles from family therapy and sports psychology; Performance, which leads to high-level results; Nutrition, fueling the body for optimal output; and Recovery, ensuring long-term sustainability and growth. Through HTFT, Trevor is committed to empowering athletes and individuals to reach their fullest potential, mentally, physically, and emotionally.
