Ben Yogev

Youth Development & Performance Counseling Intern

Ben serves as an Intern at HTFT, where he is developing his role as a Youth Development and Performance Counselor. Working closely with Joey Topel in our Youth Development Program, Ben helps implement what we call Performance Therapy—an integrative approach that merges sport and performance training with therapeutic practices to support youth athletes both in sport and, most importantly, beyond it during their most critical developmental years. He plays a vital role in supporting performance therapy cases through collaborative efforts with our in-house therapist, mental health coaches, and the broader HTFT team.

Originally from Aventura, Florida, and a proud graduate of University School in Davie, Ben began his undergraduate studies at Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business and is currently completing his degree at Florida International University, while also pursuing a counseling degree to expand his expertise.

In his role at HTFT, Ben’s focus centers on mentorship, leadership, and accountability providing youth athletes with structured guidance and compassionate emotional support to foster both personal and athletic growth. Alongside Joey Topel, he works to enhance the emotional well being, behavioral development, and performance of youth athletes. His involvement also extends to behavioral work that impacts school performance, family dynamics, sports participation, and peer relationships.

Drawing from his growing background in counseling and his passion for working with youth, adolescents, and families, Ben brings valuable insight to his work. His approach integrates therapeutic principles, emotional regulation techniques, and a strong relational presence creating a safe, encouraging environment for young athletes to thrive both on and off the field.
